When Someone Leaves Christianity!

Pastor Jeff McCullough has just posted his latest video on his YouTube channel, the title of which is: “When Someone Leaves Mormonism”. The thumbnail on the video reads: “Why I left … Leaving the LDS Church”. In this video he comments on another video put out by a former Latter-day Saint, giving his reasons for why he left the Church. It looks like Jeff McCullough is running out of ideas for videos to make about Latter-day Saints. The problem with this video is that the number of people leaving mainstream Christianity and Evangelicalism is far greater than those leaving “Mormonism”. For every one person who leaves the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, there are about 200 who leave mainstream and Evangelical Christianity worldwide. I did a Google search, using the search phrase: "why I left Christianity" (including the quotation marks), and found 13,300 search results, of which the following are among the first in the list:

Why I Left Christianity -- Jen Fishburne

Why I Left Christianity, One Year Later (also by Jen Fishburne)

Why I Left Christianity

Why I’m not a Christian anymore - Leaving Religion

Then I narrowed the search down to just “videos”. It reduced the search results to 3,080, which is still quite a lot. Here is a link to the search results. A different search phrase I am sure would produce many more interesting results. As a Christian Pastor, Jeff McCullough should be far more concerned about people leaving his mainstream and Evangelical Christianity than those leaving “Mormonism”.

P. S.

After I had posted the above, I conducted another search, using the search phrase: “famous people who have left Christianity” (without the quotation marks this time), and found many more interesting results. This produced 436,000,000 results, including a very interesting article in Wikipedia titled: “Lists of former Christians”. It lists famous people who had left Christianity, and joined various other religions, including the Bahá’í Faith, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Sikhism—or for no religion at all. So all is not well with mainstream Christianity. That is what Jeff needs to be concerned about far more.
